aptitude hints

show archives

annoyed when using aptitude because you never know which archive [0] a package's version belongs to? here's kind of a solution:

  • start aptitude.
  • press <F10> to activate the menu
  • goto Options | UI options
  • add %t to "The display format for package views". mine looks now like this: 
    %c%a%M%S %p %Z %v %V %t
  • enjoy ;-)
