jar speaks german to me
what's happening here?
$ jar xzf foo.jar 
Unzulässige Option: z
Syntax: jar {ctxu}[vfm0Mi] [JAR-Datei] [Manifest-Datei] [-C dir] Dateien ...
Optionen:

why on earth is the output in german?
$ file `which jar`
